SGRPRO, alongside the R&D department of Stara Glass, has developed different tools suitable for the design of glass furnaces, in particular:

  • Dimensionamento della geometria del forno fusorio.
  • Dimensionamento dei sistemi di recupero calore dai fumi di tipo rigenerativo e recuperativo.
  • Dimensionamento dell’isolamento termico del forno e dei sistemi di recupero calore tramite specifici tools sviluppati internamente.

Design supported by CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) methodology

SGRPRO specializes in the field of computational fluid dynamics and utilizes widely validated commercial CFD platforms. In collaboration with UNIGE, SGRPRO has developed specific methodologies for fluid dynamic simulation in the glass field, specifically:

    • Analysis of portnecks and regenerators.
    • Analysis of flame and combustion.
    • Development of DeNOx systems, including:
      • Hybrid Air-Staging design (Stara Glass patent).
      • Design of Strategic Waste Gas Recirculation (Stara Glass patent).
      • Injection of urea in SNCR system for Centauro furnace (Stara Glass patent).
      • Injection of urea in SNCR system for Unit Melter furnace.
